W/Y Evidence

In a similar vein to Komorebi, Manifesto and Ampersand, W/Y Evidence belongs to a new category of project developed by VPLP in recent years: monohulls and multihulls featuring hybrid propulsion which leverages mechanical power and hard wingsails.

Platypus

Aimed at the underwater diving market, this boat was developed in collaboration with the Platypus company which recently launched a prototype. The trimaran’s centre console is designed for two people and can be submerged two metres below the water’s surface. A breathing system using masks and a compressor enables the divers to spend up to ninety minutes below the waves without recourse to oxygen bottles.

Lagoon 42

The Lagoon 42 retains the spirit of the 40 but with greater comfort and, thanks to her slightly longer hull, even better performance at sea.

Ampersand

Initially presented at the 2016 Monaco Yacht Show, Ampersand has since been updated with a rigid wingsail. Ampersand is the name given to the typographic symbol “&” and aptly sums up VPLP’s vision for this 100’ monohull sailing boat: a combination of performance at sea and luxury alongside, tradition and modernity.

S-Jet / Air Seas

The S-Jet, developed in collaboration with Airbus, went through a number of preliminary designs. The concept was to adapt the control system for winglets, those devices at the tips of aeroplane wings and tails designed to reduce drag, to a 26 m catamaran.

Actual Ultim 3

Macif was designed in close collaboration with François Gabart and his technical team, fresh from their wins in the Vendée Globe and the Route du Rhum. The remit was to produce a boat for solo and short-handed racing and record-breaking. Launched in 2015, she is almost as beamy as her rivals and carries the same amount of sail, but weighs in two tonnes lighter.

No Limit

No Limit is the fruit a collaboration between Outremer and Yann Marilley, pro yachtsman and boss of a yard in La Trinité. It was also an opportunity to combine racing expertise with cruising considerations. Wanting to develop a fast catamaran from an existing model, the skipper customized the hulls of an Outremer 5X to produce a high-performance racing boat.

Komorebi 282

Komorebi is a Japanese word which describes how sunlight filters through the leaves of a tree. It has given rise to the architectural concept of incorporating natural light into design. VPLP has taken this idea as the basis for an ambitious project to develop a huge yet graceful trimaran which does indeed give priority to natural light.

Nexans-Arts & Fenêtres

Vento di Sardegna then No Way Back then Newrest-Arts & Fenêtres then Nexans-Arts & Fenêtres Commissioned for the Sardinian sailor Andrea Mura, the sixth and final IMOCA of the 2015 generation designed by VPLP was ultimately sold to Pieter Heerema for his attempt at the 2016 Vendée Globe. Built at the Persico yard in Italy […]

Lagoon Motor Yacht

An extension of the Smartboat, the Lagoon MY wasn’t initially designed as a motorboat but a sailing yacht with the underlying idea of retaining the benefits of a catamaran (stability, independence and space for the owners).
