Serenity

Serenity is a concept developed by VPLP for an owner who wanted a boat powered by a wingsail and solar panels. His project was to live aboard and sail leisurely round the world with his family.

Serenity is a very “architectural” catamaran in the sense that her design shares much in common with a building ashore.

Performance was not a prime consideration, instead the owner wanted transparent superstructures to offer unhindered views of the sea and to let in the light. This very “zen” remit encouraged VPLP to integrate a hull door to provide the crew with direct access to the sea.
