Lagoon SEVENTY 8

Lagoon seventy 8

The Lagoon SEVENTY 8 is a 24m luxury motor yacht which pushes the notion of comfort to the limit, in particular the private swim deck adjoining the owner’s cabin.

Lagoon Motor Yacht

An extension of the Smartboat, the Lagoon MY wasn’t initially designed as a motorboat but a sailing yacht with the underlying idea of retaining the benefits of a catamaran (stability, independence and space for the owners).

Hospital Vessel

Similar to the ambulance boat that has already been launched, the Hospital Vessel is being developed in collaboration with a doctor who is aiming to provide medical care, including surgery, to the inhabitants of remote regions, in particular river populations.  This 112’ motor catamaran features four deck levels to include a waiting room, an examination […]

Manifesto

Manifesto is a “concept boat” and a veritable policy statement from VPLP because, rather than designing a boat with several superimposed decks which are completely detached from the sea and nature, the firm argues for a similar surface area spread across a beamier catamaran which is more stable, closer to the water, and infused with fresh air and natural light.

HY-X

After a very fruitful initial collaboration in the C-Class of the 2013 Little America’s Cup, the Swiss company Hydros expressed a desire to work once again with VPLP. The new remit was to design the HY-X, a flying motorboat featuring retractable foils which lift her hull about a metre out of the water.

BBM

BBM is the motorboat version of the BBS, although the shape of her hull is, of course, slightly different. Particular care was taken when designing the layout below decks. The BBM has a cockpit in the bow with direct access to the saloon. The stern cockpit features folding bulwarks to increase deck space enough for a family-size table, with the galley and griddle close by.

Noah 88 (Kenzo)

Noah 88 was a preliminary project undertaken in collaboration with the former owner of Douce France in a bid to develop a range of motor-catamarans which could maintain a cruising speed of 12–15 knots. The Noah range was designed for comfort and habitability with broad living areas spread over three levels. All three models feature cosy […]

Smartboat

The remit for the Smartboat was to design an affordable yet modern 23’ single-hull motorboat. Her attention-grabbing lines are sleek and streamlined thanks to some very meticulous structural studies leveraging computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The goal was to enhance the boat’s movement through the water to generate minimal waves and wake, thus reducing the size of the engine and, ultimately, fuel consumption.

Friendship Ambulance

This boat is the fruit of a meeting in 2004 between Marc Van Peteghem and Yves Marre, co-founder of the NGO Friendship which provides assistance to the vulnerable populations of Bangladesh. Initially, the organization had shipped out a French barge to turn it into a floating hospital.

Lokeya

VPLP’s collaboration with the Saint Malo skipper and fisherman Franck-Yves Escoffier has been twofold, designing the 50’ trimarans Crêpes Whaou! 2 and 3, with which he won the Route du Rhum and the Transat Jacques-Vabre, as well as the 40’ aluminium fishing catamaran Lokeya (name derived from the first names of his three sons, Loïc, Kevin and Yannig).
