EMC Mono

This project is a monohull version of the EMC Multi, a cargo and passenger trimaran developed under the aegis of Watever, an NGO founded by Marc Van Peteghem and Yves Marre, to provide services between islands in the Pacific.

Komorebi 200 – Wingsails Exploration Trimaran

Deriving from the project to build a hybrid cruising catamaran which VPLP unveiled in 2015, this Komorebi 200 is designed to be an exploration ship for the scientific community. The principles are the same: broad spaces which make the most of natural light and ventilation, and which can accommodate up to twenty-four scientists, fifteen crew members and all the devices regularly used in marine research.

Oceanwings

As part of VPLP’s commitment to a sustainable future and the decarbonization of the shipping industry, the firm has developed a wingsail which is compatible with the constraints of shipping. Much of the design is based on its experience acquired in the America’s Cup, notably on USA 17 which won the 2010 edition. The starting point was a very simple observation that, while this type of rig had already proved itself in terms of performance, it was missing two decisive functions if it was to satisfy this particular market: the capacity to reduce or increase its surface area, and a fully automated control system.

Hospital Vessel

Similar to the ambulance boat that has already been launched, the Hospital Vessel is being developed in collaboration with a doctor who is aiming to provide medical care, including surgery, to the inhabitants of remote regions, in particular river populations.  This 112’ motor catamaran features four deck levels to include a waiting room, an examination […]

HY-X

After a very fruitful initial collaboration in the C-Class of the 2013 Little America’s Cup, the Swiss company Hydros expressed a desire to work once again with VPLP. The new remit was to design the HY-X, a flying motorboat featuring retractable foils which lift her hull about a metre out of the water.

L’Atelier des tropiques

The Studio in the Tropics, or studio boat as it was described in a special exhibition at the Quai Branly Museum (13 November 2018–10 February 2019), is the project of Titouan Lamazou, artist and inaugural winner of the Vendée Globe.

Friendship Ambulance

This boat is the fruit of a meeting in 2004 between Marc Van Peteghem and Yves Marre, co-founder of the NGO Friendship which provides assistance to the vulnerable populations of Bangladesh. Initially, the organization had shipped out a French barge to turn it into a floating hospital.

Waterworld

After Florence Arthaud’s victory in the 1994 Route du Rhum on the trimaran Pierre 1er, VPLP was commissioned by Universal to design and build the boat used by the main character in the film Waterworld.
