EMC Multi

Developed under the aegis of Watever, an NGO founded by Marc Van Peteghem and Yves Marre, the EMC Multi is a proposal for the future of merchant shipping. In sum, an 80 m trimaran with a 17 m beam and hybrid propulsion which is reliable and economic, and contributes little to atmospheric pollution.

Komorebi 200 – Wingsails Exploration Trimaran

Deriving from the project to build a hybrid cruising catamaran which VPLP unveiled in 2015, this Komorebi 200 is designed to be an exploration ship for the scientific community. The principles are the same: broad spaces which make the most of natural light and ventilation, and which can accommodate up to twenty-four scientists, fifteen crew members and all the devices regularly used in marine research.

Platypus

Aimed at the underwater diving market, this boat was developed in collaboration with the Platypus company which recently launched a prototype. The trimaran’s centre console is designed for two people and can be submerged two metres below the water’s surface. A breathing system using masks and a compressor enables the divers to spend up to ninety minutes below the waves without recourse to oxygen bottles.

Actual Ultim 3

Macif was designed in close collaboration with François Gabart and his technical team, fresh from their wins in the Vendée Globe and the Route du Rhum. The remit was to produce a boat for solo and short-handed racing and record-breaking. Launched in 2015, she is almost as beamy as her rivals and carries the same amount of sail, but weighs in two tonnes lighter.

Komorebi 282

Komorebi is a Japanese word which describes how sunlight filters through the leaves of a tree. It has given rise to the architectural concept of incorporating natural light into design. VPLP has taken this idea as the basis for an ambitious project to develop a huge yet graceful trimaran which does indeed give priority to natural light.

Astus 16.5 – 20.5 – 22.5 – 26.5

Boatbuiling company Astusboats developed this range of folding trailer trimarans featuring telescopic beams. Several versions are available (leisure, raid, sport and sport+) to satisfy the needs of a wide range of customers, from families enjoying day trips on the water exploring, to solo sportsmen and women looking for the thrill of competitive sailing. Some models also have bunks.

Diam 24 One Design

An international class of one-design sailing boats which allows you to experience multihull racing for €50,000. VPLP gave the Diam 24 an extremely competitive hull design, eliminating the unnecessary wherever possible.

Maxi 80 Prince de Bretagne

Lionel Lemonchois wanted a light and manoeuvrable multihull for single-handed sailing, one that was quick, reliable and cut the water cleanly. VPLP came up with a platform based on existing parts recovered from the 60’ ORMA trimaran Sodebo, launched in 2002 for Thomas Coville, such as the beams, the rigging, the appendages and the deck […]
