Wind Voyage

Wind Voyage aims to produce the first hybrid expedition yacht featuring wind-assisted propulsion in the world. At 106 metres long, the yacht draws inspiration from Canopée, the vessel designed to transport parts of the Ariane 6 rocket.

Similar to Canopée, Wind Voyage integrates OceanWings technology, a wind-assisted propulsion solution featuring rigid wingsails to significantly increase the ship’s energy self-sufficiency while reducing her dependence on fossil fuels. The yacht could achieve up to 12 knots under sail thanks to her four OceanWings. Hydrogeneration under sail, associated with integrated solar panels, would enable the vessel to undertake certain zero-emission operations, as well as considerably reduce underwater noise pollution.

Supplementary propulsion takes the form of electric motors powered by diesel gensets (and for short durations, by deep-cycle batteries) with a maximum range of 8,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 12 knots.

Two large living areas define the yacht’s accommodations: an area forward devoted to observation and exploration, with two decks integrated into the superstructure, and a rest and relaxation zone for the crew featuring an immense beach club in the stern.
