The idea was to transport urgent medical teams and equipment to the most inaccessible parts of the Ganges Delta.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_10717\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10717\" style=\"width: 700px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-10717\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/01\/Friendship-ambulance-catamaran-c-Friendship-NGO-2-min-768x576-1.jpg\" alt=\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10717\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u00a9 Friendship NGO<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><b>Two ambulances were built<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in a yard set up especially for the occasion, using local Bangladeshi workers and materials. Marc Van Peteghem and Yves Marre then decided to take the project further with the creation of <\/span><b>Watever<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, an <\/span><b>NGO <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">aimed at developing \u201cUseful Floating Solutions\u201d for impoverished populations living along the banks of the river.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This boat is the fruit of a meeting in 2004 between Marc Van Peteghem and Yves Marre, co-founder of the NGO Friendship which provides assistance to the vulnerable populations of Bangladesh.
