She featured an <\/span><b>unusual cockpit <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">with helm stations designed in close collaboration with her skipper <\/span><b>Kito de Pavant.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The hanging rudders were interchangeable, as a precaution if damaged, and her keels were straight.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Kito de Pavant Yann R\u00e9gniau dans de grosses conditions sur Groupe Bel\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nhskFAkWT8g?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As with her older sister her design brief focused on <\/span><b>lightness and power<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a not too subtle nod to the ambitions of the thoroughbred multihulls.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/01\/imoca-groupe-bel-vplp-design-1.jpg\" alt=\" width=\" class=\"wp-image-10694\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>\u00a9 Yvan Zedda\/Groupe Bel<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sold and skippered by Armel Tripon in 2014, she then entered the <\/span><b>2016\u201317<\/b> <b>Vend\u00e9e Globe <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">under the name <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le Souffle du Nord<\/span><\/i> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">with <\/span><b>Thomas Ruyant<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at the wheel, retiring in New Zealand. She was then bought by Enda O\u2019Coineen, who was also forced to retire from the Vend\u00e9e Globe, in order to finish his trip around the world.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Subsequently picked up by <\/span><b>Maxime Sorel<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for the 2020 Vend\u00e9e Globe, she <\/span><b>at last completed a single-handed circumnavigation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, arriving 10th as <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">V and B &#8211; Mayenne<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/01\/imoca-v-and-b-mayenne-vplp-1.jpg\" alt=\" width=\" class=\"wp-image-10696\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>\u00a9 Jean-Marie Liot\/V and B \u2013 Mayenne<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2023, the IMOCA &#8211; renamed <em>Mail Boxes Etc.
