Little did the team know that the project would take three years of relentless modifications, improvements and developments to produce a trimaran featuring <\/span><b>35\u00a0m floats and a 68\u00a0m pivoting wing mast!<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Proof of the pudding came in 2010 with <\/span><b>victory<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> over the Swiss catamaran <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alinghi<\/span><\/i> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in both races of the 33rd America\u2019s Cup in Valencia (Spain).<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_10656\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10656\" style=\"width: 701px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-10656\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/01\/bmw-oracle-trimaran-course-vplp-design-768x512-1.jpg\" alt=\" width=\"701\" height=\"467\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10656\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u00a9 Gilles Martin-Raget<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For VPLP, it was <\/span><b>the most enriching and intense investment of time and energy<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that the firm had ever known. Winning the America\u2019s Cup justified VPLP\u2019s approach of continuously researching and testing hypotheses.
