{"id":20275,"date":"2013-01-26T16:55:18","date_gmt":"2013-01-26T15:55:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2024.vplp.fr\/projet\/ateliers-des-tropiques\/"},"modified":"2025-03-06T17:33:37","modified_gmt":"2025-03-06T16:33:37","slug":"latelier-des-tropiques","status":"publish","type":"projet","link":"https:\/\/www.vplp.fr\/en\/maritime\/atelier-des-tropiques\/","title":{"rendered":"L&#8217;Atelier des tropiques"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>The Studio in the Tropics<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, or <\/span><b>studio boat<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as it was described in a special exhibition at the Quai Branly Museum (13\u00a0November 2018\u201310\u00a0February 2019), is the project of <\/span><b>Titouan Lamazou<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, artist and inaugural winner of the Vend\u00e9e Globe.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_10413\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10413\" style=\"width: 700px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-10413\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/studio-at-sea-cata-atelier-vplp-design-768x576-1.jpg\" alt=\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10413\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u00a9 VPLP Design<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lamazou\u2019s idea was to build a vast catamaran which would be <\/span><b>a sort of floating painting academy<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> where artists and even scientists could take up temporary residence. Taking inspiration from double-hulled Polynesian canoes, the studio catamaran was initially designed to be 164\u2019 long, but this was reduced to 85\u2019 (27\u00a0m).<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_10415\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10415\" style=\"width: 700px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-10415\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Studio-at-sea-cata-atelier-VPLP-768x576-1.jpg\" alt=\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10415\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u00a9 VPLP Design<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the design, <\/span><b>VPLP drew on the concept for <\/b><b><i>Manifesto<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which features very broad spaces that can be used for indoor and outdoor studios and accommodation, and <\/span><b>Oceanwings <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">propulsion.
