The new remit was to design the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">HY-X<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a <\/span><b>flying motorboat featuring retractable foils<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which lift her hull about a metre out of the water.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_10230\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10230\" style=\"width: 700px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-10230\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/hy-x-vplp-768x384-1.jpg\" alt=\" width=\"700\" height=\"350\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10230\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u00a9 JM Koncept\/Hydros.ch<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">VPLP designed the hull, lifting surfaces and their associated control systems in collaboration with the design firm Ladida and engineers from Hydros and JM Koncept.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_10232\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10232\" style=\"width: 700px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-10232\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/hy-x-vplp-design-768x384-1.jpg\" alt=\" width=\"700\" height=\"350\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10232\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u00a9 JM Koncept\/Hydros.ch<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And the <\/span><b>prototype resulting from the simulator studies<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ticks all the boxes: performance, fuel savings of 30%, superlative handling and a comfortable ride.
