Designed in partnership with Alex Thomson Racing, she was built entirely in carbon fibre, deploying <\/span><b>technologies similar to those used in Formula&nbsp;1<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/imoca-hugo-boss-6-vplp-verdier-768x488-1.jpg\" alt=\" width=\" class=\"wp-image-10122\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>\u00a9 Mark Lloyd<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This project had no family ties with the five other VPLP\/Verdier productions of 2015. Having no sistership in the magnificent six, she is instead the faithful transcription of skipper Alex Thomson and team\u2019s approach: a more <\/span><b>extreme hull by way of her reduced beam<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a more hydro and aerodynamic bow section, and differently shaped foils which also guided the architectural choices. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And these were pertinent choices because <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hugo Boss<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> turned out to be one of the fastest foiling IMOCAs of her generation, finishing <\/span><b>second<\/b> <b>in the Vend\u00e9e Globe<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> just a few hours behind Armel Le Cl\u00e9ac\u2019h with a broken foil, and third in the Route du Rhum despite having the race in the bag until she ran aground off Guadeloupe.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/11th-hours-racing-imoca-768x511-1.jpg\" alt=\" width=\" class=\"wp-image-10124\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>\u00a9 Sailing Energy\/The Ocean Race<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"VIiyi\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"0\" data-number-of-phrases=\"3\">After this Route du Rhum, she was sold to the American <strong>11th Hour Racing Team<\/strong> with a view to preparing for The Ocean Race, resulting in a fourth place in the 2019 Transat Jacques Vabre.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1500\" height=\"687\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Guyot_-Arnaud-Pilpre-e1741269130264.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19089\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Guyot_-Arnaud-Pilpre-e1741269130264.jpg 1500w, https:\/\/www.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Guyot_-Arnaud-Pilpre-e1741269130264-300x137.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Guyot_-Arnaud-Pilpre-e1741269130264-1024x469.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Guyot_-Arnaud-Pilpre-e1741269130264-768x352.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em><em>\u00a9 Arnaud Pilpr\u00e9<\/em><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"2\" data-number-of-phrases=\"3\">Equipped with <strong>new foils in 2020<\/strong>, she is sold at the end of the 2021 edition of the double-handed transatlantic race, contested on board by Simon Fisher and Justine Mettraux, to <strong>Benjamin Dutreux<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She takes the name of <strong>Guyot Environnement &#8211;
