{"id":20184,"date":"2023-10-25T08:34:02","date_gmt":"2023-10-25T06:34:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2024.vplp.fr\/projet\/sailcoop\/"},"modified":"2025-02-05T13:50:43","modified_gmt":"2025-02-05T12:50:43","slug":"sailcoop","status":"publish","type":"projet","link":"https:\/\/www.vplp.fr\/en\/maritime\/sailcoop\/","title":{"rendered":"Sailcoop"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Fruit of a profound commitment to reducing the impact of human activities on the<br>environment, and of a desire to change our relationship with time, Sailcoop has given itself<br>the mission of reinventing how we travel on the sea by proposing decarbonized solutions for<br>transporting passengers under sail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cooperative started out by chartering mass-produced boats before embarking on the<br>construction of its first bespoke vessel, which was partly funded through public subscription.<br>Designed especially for this project, this sailing ship has a carrying capacity of 80 passengers<br>and offers crossings to the French islands of Gl\u00e9nan, Groix and Porquerolles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"350\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Corps-de-texte-IMG-1-700x350px.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21638\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Corps-de-texte-IMG-1-700x350px.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Corps-de-texte-IMG-1-700x350px-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">\u00a9 Sailcoop<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The initial challenge facing the project involved bringing innovative solutions to the table<br>within the scope of the standards applying to passenger vessels. The design also had to<br>comply with Le Chantier de l\u2019Arsenal\u2019s exclusive One Shape construction method. This<br>method involves assembling shaped panels instead of using a mould, thus reducing the<br>build\u2019s carbon footprint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The layout of the deck is modular to comply with the specifications: maximized passenger-<br>carrying capacity in Class III and up to 80 people in Class IV, disabled toilets, wheelchair<br>access, capacity for carrying luggage and bicycles\u2026 The helm is sited forward to ensure the<br>skipper has an unhindered view and access to all the lines. Her scantlings and certain<br>construction methods were modified in collaboration with Le Chantier de l\u2019Arsenal to make<br>her as light as possible. Saving weight helps Sailcoop achieve greater sustainability because<br>using less material reduces the impact of the construction and, by enhancing her performance,<br>increases the amount of time spent under sail.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"VOILA LES GLENANS -
