At the same time they presented their first model, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vmgtrimarans.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">VMG 53<\/a> <strong>designed by VPLP<\/strong> and currently being built at the Evolution Marine Manufacturing shipyard in Cape Town, South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For this new collaboration, VPLP Design drew inspiration from the firm\u2019s offshore racing experience to produce the plans for a <strong>cruising trimaran, 53 feet<\/strong> (16 metres) long, partially built in carbon fibre. In an article on the <a href=\"https:\/\/tinyurl.com\/5xthytcd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">project for <em>Forbes<\/em> magazine<\/a>, Michael Schwartz says: <em>\u201cFrom the beginning, our goal has been to create the yacht we wanted to own ourselves. We believe that we have the unique opportunity to combine  <\/em><strong><em>world-class design, practical cruising capability and true sailing performance<\/em><\/strong><em>in a way that hasn\u2019t been achieved before in a production trimaran.
