This completely revised version, produced in collaboration with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tipandshaft.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tip &amp; Shaft<\/a>, the copywriting studio which also puts together VPLP\u2019s quarterly newsletter, was absolutely necessary. \u201cToday, VPLP Design comprises three distinct business divisions,\u201d says\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/simonwatin?originalSubdomain=fr\">Simon Watin<\/a>, the firm\u2019s chairman. \u201cUntil recently, racing and cruising were developing together. We then decided to enter a new market, the maritime industry, and it appeared to us that the website should reflect these different divisions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The home page of vplp.fr now features three links to the firm\u2019s principal divisions, and an additional link to the special projects developed by VPLP. Each division features\u00a0<strong>a detailed and illustrated presentation of the firm\u2019s many projects<\/strong>. In total there are more than a hundred data sheets, the earliest being\u00a0<em>G\u00e9rard Lambert<\/em>\u00a0(1983), the first boat designed by Marc Van Peteghem and Vincent Lauriot Pr\u00e9vost.<\/p>\n<p>The browsing experience has been designed so visitors can easily switch divisions, thus allowing them to gain a real appreciation of\u00a0<strong>the diversity and complementarity of VPLP\u2019s activities<\/strong>. \u201c<strong>Many folks only know about one part of our business<\/strong>,\u201d says\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/jeremybertaud\/\">Jeremy Bertaud<\/a>, the firm\u2019s office manager in charge of bringing the new website to fruition. \u201cFor example, some have heard about the\u00a0<em>Canop\u00e9e<\/em>\u00a0without knowing that we\u2019re also active in the racing world. Alternatively, others are well aware of our IMOCAs but have no idea that we also design cruising boats for mass production. There was a real need to\u00a0<strong>offer visitors a comprehensive view of our business today<\/strong>\u00a0and highlight VPLP\u2019s capacity for working on very different projects.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Organizing VPLP Design into divisions has also led to\u00a0<strong>a greater diversity of profiles<\/strong>\u00a0within the firm, the complexity of the projects undertaken requiring the recruitment of\u00a0<strong>new competencies<\/strong>. Once again, the new website reflects this diversity through the presentation of the people who work for VPLP Design, grouped together by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vplp.fr\/en\/about-us\/\">profession<\/a>\u00a0(engineering, management, design, modelling, naval architecture).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we started out thirty-five years ago, we weren\u2019t designing boats like we do today,\u201d says VPLP cofounder Vincent Lauriot-Pr\u00e9vost. \u201cWe were foremost naval architects and then we gradually started to work regularly with other competencies. For example, we were the first to hire digital modellers. Today, we are\u00a0<strong>a company of architects, engineers and designers<\/strong>. This allows us to develop a global approach because all the competencies we have assembled within the firm can be deployed on all the projects we work on. We offer our customers\u00a0<strong>a comprehensive service<\/strong>, and the website now reflects this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Last but not least, VPLP Design wanted to do justice to\u00a0<strong>the wealth of news generated by the firm\u00a0<\/strong>by displaying it in a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vplp.fr\/en\/news\/\">dedicated section<\/a>\u00a0of the website and on the landing page. \u201cWe\u2019re shining a light on news because we want the public to realize that we\u2019re\u00a0<strong>a dynamic firm where a lot happens<\/strong>.
